Hands to Myself (4kids)

Sometimes we’re excited, sometimes full of energy,

But we can still be kind and respectful — let’s see!

When I’m feeling happy, when I want to play,

I remember something important every day.

My body is my own, and yours is too,

So I stop and think before I do.

I see my friends right next to me,

We’re learning how to be respectful, you see.

No pushing, grabbing, or holding tight,

We keep our hands in a way that’s right.

I take a breath, I look around,

I keep my feet and hands on the ground.

Being kind is what I choose,

I show respect the way I move.

Hands to myself, yes that’s the rule,

At home, at play, at school.

I can smile, wave, or say hello,

I keep my space and let others know.

Hands to myself, I’m doing my part,

Respecting bodies, respecting hearts.

When I’m standing in line, when I’m feeling bored,

I remember the promise I’ve stored.

I don’t poke, pull, or crowd too near,

I give my friends their space right here.

If I want a hug or want to play,

I ask with words in a kind way.

“Yes” means yes, “no” means stop,

Listening matters — every drop.

I pause and think before I act,

Respect is something I practice, in fact.

Strong choices help me grow,

I show respect everywhere I go.

Hands to myself, yes that’s the rule,

At home, at play, at school.

I can clap, dance, sing along,

I keep my body safe and strong.

Hands to myself, I understand,

Being respectful helps us all be friends.

If I feel mad or feel too full,

I squeeze my hands, I stay cool.

Count to three or take a breath,

Calm my body, do my best.

On the playground, on the floor,

I remember what my hands are for.

High-fives only when it’s okay,

Respecting space the whole day.

Teachers smile, friends feel safe,

When we all make thoughtful space.

Little choices, big respect,

That’s the lesson we protect.

I choose respect in what I say.

I keep my space, I show I care,

I’m kind with my body everywhere.
