One eyed love

A girl did dwell by the lilac shore

A mortal heart

Full to its core

The hills did whisper

The skies did moan

For she loved one-eyed

And loved alone

The cyclops roamed the shadowed ridge

His steps like thunder

A broken bridge

His eye did turn where shy hearts stay

But whispers warned

"Keep love at bay."

Oh

One-eye roams and hearts do break

Rivers deep

For crying's sake

The mortal girl

With sorrow’s thread

Wove her love 'til the fates had fled

A forest glen

Their meeting place

Her trembling hands on his scarred face

He said

“No gods dare weave our fate

”

Yet stars above began to grate

Village fears

They soon took flame

Her kinfolk cursed the Cyclops’ name

The heavens wept

The earth did shake

Two hearts that dared what none could wake

Oh

One-eye roams and hearts do break
