Grateful Prayer

Now the sun’s shining brightly where the shadows once lay

I’m standing on the mountaintop, the skies are wide and gray

I can see the path I walked, the scars that shaped my soul

But I wouldn’t change a thing ’cause they’ve made me whole

Oh, I thought the pain would last forever

But you turned it into something better

So here’s my grateful prayer, thank you for the rain

For every tear and every trial that shaped me in your name

I’m stronger now, I see how I’ve grown

In the valley, I found out I wasn’t alone

You were planting seeds I didn’t understand

Now I’m standing tall, holding your hand

And I’m blooming here, ’cause flowers grow in the valley

Now the hills are alive with colors I’ve never seen

What once was barren ground is now a field of evergreen

And the storms they don’t seem so fierce anymore

I stand in awe of your love that restored me, Lord

Oh, the storms may come, but I’ll weather them better

’Cause I know your love is always my tether
