Prompt / Lyrics
So much to glean, from stories told, Faith of friends, brave and bold. Jesus' power, to heal and mend, Forgiving sins, without end. But in the crowd, doubt takes its hold, A lesson learned, as days unfold. What paralyzes, grips my soul? Keeps me from reaching, for the goal? Fears and worries, cloud my mind, Insecurities, of every kind. Attitudes that bind me tight, Obscuring truth, and dimming light. I seek to break, these chains that hold, To rise in faith, courageous, bold. Unleash the spirit, let it soar, And walk with Jesus, evermore. What paralyzes me, the question deep, Unveiling fears, the secrets keep. But am I willing, to take the chance, To bring my brokenness, into His hands? Healing's light, a change untold, Courage to rise, brave and bold. Pick up my burdens, start anew, In faith and strength, I'll see it through. "What paralyzes me?" the question rings, A call to search, what darkness brings. Fears of failure, hold me back, A daunting shadow, on my track. Old tapes replay, in my head, "Not good enough," the voices said. Why even try, if I'm to fall? These haunting doubts, consume me all. Addictions bind, with chains so strong, A fear of loss, where do I belong? Even success, can bring its dread, A path unknown, filled with the tread. But once I know, what holds me tight, What do I do, with newfound light? Confront the demons, face the past, And break these chains, that couldn't last. Am I willing, to have the faith, To bring my brokenness, to that sacred place? Paralyzed mind, or body's plight, To seek His healing, pure and bright. For healing brings, a change untold, A path uncharted, brave and bold. The man now walks, no longer bound, But work awaits, on solid ground. The addict freed, from chains of vice, Must face life's trials, pay the price. Stand up to friends, who seek control, Risk losing some, to free my soul. Healed in spirit, and body whole, He picks his bed, and makes it roll. His burden lifted, he walks anew, Do I have courage, to follow through? What paralyzes me, the question deep, Unveiling fears, the secrets keep. But am I willing, to take the chance, To bring my brokenness, into His hands? Healing's light, a change untold, Courage to rise, brave and bold. Pick up my burdens, start anew, In faith and strength, I'll see it through. Luke 5 17-20 Loving and forgiving God, Please remove the sins and concerns that keep me paralyzed so that I might be free to be a better witness of Your love and Your grace to others. In Jesus name, Amen.
