Prompt / Lyrics
Fell face-first in the fire, Faith faint, heart heavy with desire. Shadows shouting shame in my soul, Sin so loud, tried to swallow me whole. But in the silence, I heard Him swear: “I, even I, blot out sins—I’m still there.” (Isaiah 43:25) He’s still there when I’m stumbling, scarred, Still there when I’m shattered and charred. My mind says I’m finished, far too flawed— But grace grips tighter than guilt ever gnawed. Storms may scream, but the Savior stays near, He whispers in the wind, “Child, don’t fear.” He’s still there… yeah, He’s still there. Drenched in doubt, I drifted deep, Dark nights, no rest, no righteous sleep. Tried to outrun Him with broken boots, But He found me hiding in hollow roots. “Where sin increased, grace abounded more” (Romans 5:20) He opened the door I kept closed before. Shame says I’m shackled, can’t start new, But the cross cries louder: “I died for you.” Fallen a thousand? He forgave ten-thousand-one— Not by my merit, but by the Son. I tried to outrun what I couldn’t undo, But mercy met me—and mercy grew. He’s still there when I’m doubting my worth, Still there when I’m drowning in dirt. My thoughts tell lies, but His truth tears through, Grace outweighs every wrong I do. Storms may scream, but the Savior stays near, He whispers in the wind, “Child, don’t fear.” He’s still there… yeah, He’s still there. So I’ll stop shadowing grace with guilt, I’ll walk on the water my Savior built. From the fire, the flood, the fight—I rise, With mercy in my scars and hope in my eyes. He’s still there… Always was… Still is.
