Staring at the ceiling, lost in flame

My thoughts don’t knock, they just invade

Flickers of a world that’s caved

Where light burns out and colors fade

I float through silence, heavy and slow

Every heartbeat digs the hole

There’s smoke where my dreams should glow

And monsters I don’t even know

I blink and I’m falling again

Ashes dance in shattered light

And nothing here feels right

I build a throne from broken bones

And call this deep hole home

Sometimes I smile but it’s not real

Even angels here don’t fly
