A spark of light in the darkest fold
 Second Peter's words they never grow old 
Faith stands firm like a fortress tall
Guides me steady I won't fall
The dawn breaks bright no time to sway 
False teachers rise we keep the way
Scoffers scoff but truth shines clean
A promise kept a a steadfast scene
The world may burn the heavens cry
But righteousness will never die
The end will come like a thief at night 
But we shine with grace a beacon of light
Be on guard don't let it slip
Grace and peace on this faith trip
Growing in Christ sanctified 
In him we stand purified 
Climb that ladder virtue grows
Knowledge deep the Spirit flows
Self control and love collide
Living strong with faith as my guide 
Chapter one it's the start of the run
Faiths the base but the work ain't done
Add knowledge patience and self control 
A ladder to climb towards a righteous goal
Prophecies spoke they ain't from man
Holy Spirit moved it's part of his plan
No private spin it's a light in the dark
A lamp for the soul ignites the spark 
Beware of the fools who twist his name
Greedy shadows are chasing fame
Destructive hooks they'll lead you astray 
But the word endures it lights the wày
God's not slow he's just merciful 
Giving us time to be purposeful 
A thief will come catch you off guard
So guard your steps and stand on the yard
Hold on tight to the words you hear
Truths unshaken it's crystal clear 
Build your life on a rock not sand
