Waves Roll In
When the sun goes down and the waves roll in
He looked deep down inside within
Salt in the air and a warm night breeze
Carrying whispers through the palm trees
Footprints fade where the tide runs high
Stars start waking in the sky
He takes a breath, lets the world slow down
As the day slips off into the sound
There’s a truth in the rhythm of the sea
Like it’s saying, “come be free”
Thoughts and memories, hopes and dreams
All mixed up in silent scenes
Drifting out where the heart can mend
Let the ocean be your friend
Hear the tide as it calls your name
Washing clean every hurt and pain
When the night feels just right and calm
You find your soul in the ocean’s song
Old regrets like a passing storm
Lose their weight in the water’s warm
Every worry just slips away
With the dying light of day
Barefoot steps on the shifting sand
Letting go of what he planned
Sometimes life ain’t what it seems
Till you let go and ride the breeze
And the waves don’t judge where you’ve been
They just pull you back again
Thoughts and memories, hopes and dreams
All mixed up in silent scenes
Drifting out where the heart can mend
Let the ocean be your friend
Hear the tide as it calls your name
Washing clean every hurt and pain
When the night feels just right and calm
You find your soul in the ocean’s song
Maybe all that he was chasing
Was right there in the tide
Not in all the miles he wandered
But the peace he felt inside
With a little faith and a coastal wind
You can lose yourself… and live again
Thoughts and memories, hopes and dreams
All carried off on gentle streams
Floating free where the heart can mend
Let the ocean be your friend
Hear the tide as it calls your name
No more worry, no more shame
When the sun dips low and the stars come on
You just sing along with the ocean’s song
When the sun goes down…
And the waves roll in…
You find a little peace…
Deep down within…
