Into the Light

The air is thick, I can’t seem to breathe,

My thoughts are running, breaking free.

I’m weightless, lost in this spinning fight,

Falling farther from the light.

Oh God, I’m crying, where are You now?

My heart is breaking; please show me how.

Your hand finds me in the dark,

Your love steadies my restless heart.

Through the fear, I hear You say:

“I am with you; don’t be afraid.”

The silence screams, it won’t let go,

But somewhere faint, Your mercy flows.

A whisper breaks the endless noise,

And I can barely hear Your voice.

Oh God, I’m reaching, I need You here.

You draw me closer, You calm my fear.

I let go now, I’m falling to You,

Your grace is stronger than what I knew.

And in Your arms, I am complete.

You’ve always been, and You’re still here.
