Hard Times

Yeah, it's a long night, and the road gets rough

But we keep on walking, never giving up

Woke up this morning, saw the sun didn't shine

Feeling every burden, heavy on my mind

Bills on the table, hopes running thin

Faces fade away but pain remains the same

Life's a hard river, and I’m caught in the rain

Struggling in this shadow, trying to understand

Climbing up the mountains, falling in the valleys

Life ain’t easy, but I gotta keep going

Friends come and go, shadows in the night

Dreams fade away, just out of sight

Hearts get broken, spirits get torn

But I plant my hope in a brand new dawn

Every scar I wear, tells a story true

Of battles fought and victories few

But I won't stop, I won't give in

This is the fight that I’ve always been in

Struggling in this shadow, trying to understand
