The River and the Rock

I didn’t chase them but I fell down the waterfall

My barrel broke now I’m flowing with the stream

Inhale, exhale as these waters enter my lungs

I grabbed a rock and just tried to hang on

I can feel it I’m drowning

As these violent rapids

Are flowing down to my fate

You became everything I hate

Everyday I’m accepting the inevitable

The truth is one day I’ll have to let go

And just see where the river takes me

Through the mountains, past the prairies

And through all the woodland trees

These waters are so cold but I can adapt

See the stary nights for what they are

I can wish upon all the shooting stars

Just let it be and let the flow free me

Maybe it’ll take me to where I need to be
