Prompt / Lyrics
Was it fake? Was it a game? Was I a toy you liked to play? Did it make you happy? Did it make you proud? Do you love the way you lie? Do you love the way you make me feel helpless? The way you make me feel hopeless, afraid, alone, and terrified to trust anyone? Because everytime I do they mirror your actions, They tell me I'm enough, but still want more than I can offer, They say they love me, but I wasn't the one they were with at the party, Why does everyone I meet turn out like you? You broke me first, but they stomped on the shattered pieces, They have no remorse or sorrow, They saw what you did and thought they could do it too, They think a relationship is built of pain and broken promise, Of lies and broken hearts, They believe this because you taught them this, You may not know it, But everytime you told a lie, You were saying, 'It's okay to be dishonest,' You played my feeling like a pawn in a game of chess, You through my heart like it was a baseball and you were the pitcher, My mind was the laundry basket that you tossed your dirty lies into, Your actions were microphones echoing, 'IT'S OKAY, SHE'S USE TO IT. IT WON'T PHASE HER.' And all the others that came after you, The ones that acted just like you, They were your fan base and you were their idol, And they must've worshiped you, Because they mimicked your movements, your thought process, and your ability to be emotionless, They knew you, They became you, They broke me they way you broke me, And just like you, They will never understand the definition of truth.
