Prompt / Lyrics
When shadows fall and daylight fades, And life's harsh storms unleash their raids, I seek Your face, my Rock, my stay, To You, I cling, come what may. Through valleys deep, where sorrows dwell, When earthly comforts bid farewell, In sickness, loss, or darkest night, You are my refuge, my guiding light. When trials mount, a heavy load, And weary paths become my road, I feel the world against my soul, To You, my Rock, I make my whole. In job loss, grief, or loved one's pain, When tears like rivers, flood my lane, I cling to You, my fortress strong, In Your embrace, where I belong. You are my rock, my fortress strong, In You I find where I belong, When shadows fall and fears arise, I lift my voice to the skies. In Yuletide's glow, a somber hue, For souls adrift, the lonely few, The elderly, in shadows deep, Where memories stir, and sorrows sleep. The homeless roam, with hearts forlorn, In winter's chill, their spirits torn, While festive cheer fills every street, Their empty hands, with nothing meet. The burdened souls, in dark despair, Seek solace in a world unfair, When Christmas carols fill the air, Their heavy hearts, a silent prayer. I once stood there, with empty hands, No gifts to give, in barren lands, Then grace appeared, a guiding light, A stranger's gift, in darkest night. My rock, my fortress, ever true, In times of need, I run to You, Your love surrounds, Your peace abides, In You, my heart forever hides. In seasons bright, where joy abounds, Some hearts are lost in sorrow's grounds, The elderly, the lonely soul, Depression's grip takes its toll. The homeless wander, spirits low, As Christmas cheer begins to flow, But in their hearts, a silent plea, For hope and love, to set them free. I once was lost, in shadows deep, No gifts to give, no warmth to keep, A stranger's hand, a gentle touch, Brought light to me, I loved so much. Now years have passed, I see anew, The chance to bless, as I was due, To reach the lost, the broken heart, And show them love, a brand new start. You are my rock, my guiding light, Through darkest days, You make it right, My fortress strong, my safe embrace, In You, I find unending grace. Psalms 71 1 to 3 Lord, You are my rock and my fortress to whom I cling every day of my life. I thank You for all the blessings You have bestowed on me and ask that You allow me to be a blessing to others. In Jesus name, Amen. My rock, my fortress, firm and bold, A story of love, forever told, In every storm, Your presence near, My heart is safe, no doubt, no fear. Cling to Christ
