This world and its desires are fading fast away,
But those who do God’s will will live and never sway.
The wicked fade like smoke when judgment soon is done,
The meek will have the earth, enjoying life in God’s bright sun.

Armies of this world will march against God’s name,
Their hatred for His people sets their hearts aflame.
But heaven’s King will act, no weapon will prevail,
Jehovah will defend His flock; His purpose cannot fail.

The cry of “peace and safety” sounds so bold and strong,
But sudden tribulation shows their promise wrong.

Like Noah built the ark while others laughed in scorn,

We keep in expectation, trusting what God said,
For Habakkuk’s sure vision “will not be late” ahead.
