Silent Shadows

Silent battles, unspoken fears, always scared to make you mad when you are here. I worry when the house isn’t picked up, so that I don’t hear the words come here after you pull up, sometimes I can’t get out of this depression, but I guess it doesn’t matter, it’s up to his discretion

They see me, they think they know

But there's pain they can't show

Memory fading, moments unclear

Stigma heavy, burdening fear, I can’t

Remember friends names, they’re fading from my mind, that’s the real pain

Medications pull me low

Insomnia, a restless flow

Nerves fray, touch feels gone

Living in a world alone

I wish you'd understand, I wish you'd see

Beyond the surface, what it means to me

Epilepsy's a shadow I carry inside

Silent, unseen, yet I survive

Over 30 Types of seizures, and so much more than you know,

Unexpected drops, strange undertow

Can't drive, can't work like before,

Lost in days, unsure what's in store

Feeling disconnected, feeling frail

Trying to keep my heart at sail

Depression's weight, days twist and turn

Hoping for understanding to burn

I wish you'd understand, I wish you'd see

It's not about rejection, it's not about desire

It's the medication's toll, the brain's internal fire

Respect the signs, spare me the blame

It's a silent struggle, not a game
