Going down into the deep waters

Where the current knows my name

Past the point of no return now

Nothing left will be the same

Diving through the crushing darkness

Till I find my ocean floor

Every fathom down revealing

Who I was before the war

Found the wreckage of old dreams

Scattered on the sandy ground

Coral reefs of buried trauma

Growing beauty all around

Schools of memories swimming by

Some silver, some like sharks

Learning which ones feed my soul

Which ones hunt me in the dark

Pressure here could crush a person

Or it could forge them into steel
