Shadows falling, but we're rising again

From the darkness, finding the light within.

They say we’re one of the lucky one’s, it’s sad but it’s true. So here’s my story I wrote it down for you

Life was smooth, steady on my track

Then he appeared, never saw it coming back

Thought he was a prince, a fairy tale charm

Turned out to hold a storm, a beast that disarmed

Girls were mad, he played his game

Petals in the wind, whispering my name

Paraded me around, a trophy in his hand

But behind closed doors, I couldn’t understand

I finally saw the sun, broke through the night

Reaching for that sky, holding on tight

From the shadows, I found my way

Made it out, I’ve got so much to say

We made it, stronger than before

Survivors, us, we’re knocking on the door

He was a monster, hidden behind a mask

Choking me low, living in the past

Cheated, threatened, walls closing in

Lost my friendships, caught in his spin

But I fought my battle, for my heart for my kids

Every scar a story, every wound that mended

Two beautiful lives, my reason to push

For them, for me, standing tall, I won’t hush

It almost slipped, but I grabbed hold of hope

With my children’s love, I learned how to cope

The fight was fierce, but the break was near

Now I cherish every moment, crystal clear
