Prompt / Lyrics
(Verse 1 – slow, mournful) In blood and flame the battle cried, Fifteen thousand came to ride. Steel on stone, the earth did shake, But one man stood, for honor’s sake. Algar, son of forest deep, Swore no evil soul would reap The land he loved, the kin he knew— He stood alone. The brave, the true. (Chorus – chant-like, with harmony) Lay him down in the tomb so wide, Where the roots grow deep and the brave men lie. Though his sword is still, his name won’t fade Algar the Brave, through storm and blade. Restless soul, still walks the vale, With eyes like fire and skin gone pale. Bound by honor, bound by flame, The wind still whispers Algar’s name. (Verse 2 – faster, driven) One by one, they charged with hate, But none could bend the warrior's fate. With Spirit close, his loyal hound, He carved their fall into the ground. But shadows crept where honor bled, A traitor’s spear struck low instead. He fell, not broken, but betrayed— Still fighting as the light did fade. (Chorus – swelling, bold) Lay him down in the tomb so wide, Where the roots grow deep and the brave men lie. Though his sword is still, his name won’t fade Algar the Brave, through storm and blade. Restless soul, still walks the vale, With eyes like fire and skin gone pale. Bound by honor, bound by flame, The wind still whispers Algar’s name. (Bridge – soft, ghostly) He does not sleep, he does not dream, He walks the night by moonlight’s gleam. Not for glory, not for song— But for the land he served so long. (Final Chorus – strong, echoing voices) Raise your cups, and speak it loud, For heroes gone, both fierce and proud. Let no man fall and be forgot— For courage lives where blood was bought. Lay him down, but not alone, His legend carved in ancient stone. Still he stands in memory’s flame— Algar the Brave. Remember his name.
