Some things just don't make sense

I try to understand but just feel dense

We all watched in real time the mayhem on January six

The rhetoric, the violence, lives lost there is no fix

So many convicted of so many crimes

A stunning moment unprecedented in our times

Now pardoned they've been released

An affront to our nation and cops deceased

My experience is Americans have sense and are smart

I can't comprehend why we buy the lies and show no heart
