Believe

It seems confusion permeates all today

No clear direction or guide to show the way

No clear message in all the words we say

Our nation our climate , all in disarray

Not so long ago we were in a good flow

A proud country others followed where we'd go

But things have changed over the past decade or so

We've gone from moving fast to falling slow

Wanting to hope we all seek relief

Lies and fear make us doubt our belief

I try to remain optimistic even though I grieve

I look into my neighbors eyes and I try to believe

Dont give up and get discouraged

Cling to hope and fuel your courage

Give of yourself without concern for what you receive

Restore trust for the other and remember to believe

In this dark time full of blindness

We must increase acts of kindness

Dont buy the lies that fuel division and calamity

We need to band together and ensure the survival of humanity

This is the age of whats in it for me

Our lives cursed and enhanced by technology

We are in great peril and we all must be

Willing to accept and forgive and move forward with unity

Dont give up and get discouraged

Cling to hope and fuel your courage

Give of yourself without concern for what you receive

Restore trust for the other and remember to believe

There is no denying we are on a dangerous path

Its very much in front of us no need for  complex math

We need every bit of support and love not eachothers wrath

We can cause others to weep or united we can laugh

We can change the way we think

Set aside our fear and gather for a drink

Give up now theres no tomorrow

Surrender your hate and avoid the sorrow

We have the power the magic is

Up our sleeve

Just be kind to others and remember to believe

Hate fear division calamity and strife

Or unity love and understanding  as our new way of life
