Prompt / Lyrics
John the Baptist, hailed with might, "Greatest born of woman's light." Yet Jesus said, with gentle tone, "The least in Heaven, greater shown." A paradox, a twist of fate, To redefine what we create. The world may strive for titles grand, A fleeting grasp in shifting sand. The greatest boxer(Ali), actor too, The stage, the ring, a vying crew. But in God's eyes, a different call, To serve, to love, to give our all. The least among us, humble, meek, Their strength in service, they bespeak. So let us seek a nobler quest, To serve in love, and be the best. More than a prophet, yes, I say to you, Of women born, none greater to imbue. Yet least in the kingdom, a light so bright, John the Baptist, shining ever in the night. More than a prophet, yes, I say to you, Of women born, none greater to imbue. John, a voice in barren lands, No crown he sought, no praise he fanned. "Unworthy I," his humble plea, "To loose His sandals, bend the knee." True greatness shuns the boastful claim, It shines through deeds, not fleeting fame. History whispers, time unfolds, The worth of lives, like stories told. God-given talents, used with grace, To lift, to heal, to interlace. John's path was clear, his purpose bright, To pave the way for Jesus' light. Humility, from earth it springs, A grounded soul, where wisdom sings. So let us walk with hearts serene, And find our strength in what's unseen. More than a prophet, yes, I say to you, Of women born, none greater to imbue. Yet least in the kingdom, a light so bright, John the Baptist, shining ever in the night. More than a prophet, yes, I say to you, Of women born, none greater to imbue. The humble heart, a fertile ground, Where gifts are sown, and blessings found. Nurturing talents, day by day, To serve the world in every way. No boastful claim, no prideful show, But gratitude, a gentle flow. For every gift, a debt we owe, To Him who makes our spirits grow. Jesus, born in humble guise, A human touch in infant eyes. No palace grand, no royal claim, But kinship shared in earthly frame. So let us use our gifts with care, And lift each other in our prayer. Remember always, source divine, And let our hearts with thankfulness shine. More than a prophet, yes, I say to you, Of women born, none greater to imbue. Yet least in the kingdom, a light so bright, John the Baptist, shining ever in the night. More than a prophet, yes, I say to you, Of women born, none greater to imbue. Matthew 11 9 to 11 Lord, We thank you for all You have done for us and for giving the example of John the Baptist for showing what true greatness is. Help us to have the humility as John and use the gifts we have for the good of others. In Jesus name, Amen.
