Undeniable

I must have been dreaming, I say,  
When I walked along the water that day.  
It was a sight—undeniable, no doubt.  
Even someone who’d never prayed before  
Would bow when they looked up—  
It was already written, already done.  

And there, just ahead—she stood.  
Tall and proud upon the rocks,  
Smiling at me, as if she had just found one.  
Butterflies rose inside me,  
Fluttering so fast, I couldn’t stand still.  
My mouth moved, but no words came out.  
I knew—this was it.  

Oh wow—  
My heartbeat pounds in my ears,  
So loud.  
I just want to get close enough,  
To pull you near,  
To hold you close.  
But no matter how close I get,  
It will never be close enough.  

And for this luck—I am grateful.  
I admit—I’ve been blessed.  
Out of the darkest days,  
Something so stunning can rise.  
It never ceases to amaze me—  
The things I once couldn't see.  
But finally, my eyes are open,  
And peace is what’s been chosen.  

There's never too much  
Of what’s good for the soul.  
And love—love feels so good.
