Paul wrote a letter from a jail so cold

To Timothy with a fire in his soul

Don't fear the chains let your faith stay bold

Guard the truth tighter than any gold

Soldier for Christ no retreat no shame

Preach the word stay steady in his name

Through persecution let your fires flame

A house divided it won't ever stand

So cling to the scriptures with your brave hand

The breath of God in the words they expand

Light in the darkness a guide through the land

The time has come for his truth to shine

In season out of season God's word divine

Endure the work fulfill your assigned

Run the race and leave fear behind

Stir the gift that lives in you

The spirit of power it carries you through

Not of fear but of love and sound mind too

Second Timothy young but bold in his reigns

Passing the torch watch the kingdom ignite

Guard what's entrusted stand strong in the fight

This world's gonna tempt you try to pull away

But the word is your anchor keep the wolves at bay

Endure the hardship as a soldier would

Proclaim the gospel it's eternally good

All scripture breathed straight from above

Teaching correcting filled with love

Equipped for every good work you do

Finish the race there's a crown to claim
