Friends To Family

We were tent camping in the summer in the keys
and that's where it all began.
We were talking and laughing and shooting the breeze
All The while working on our tan.
Friends at first sight, it quickly became clear to see. 
they were friends who had become family.
That's when friends become family. 
When you never knew how full your life could be.
They show up before you even ask.
They'll paint your house, they'll mow your grass.  
They listen without judging you. 
When you're lost they'll see you through.  
I thank God that he knew what we would need.
And that's friends who became family. 
As the years went by, they stayed by our side. 
​from campers, cabins, and airplane rides. 
So much fun in so many years but more than that being there through the tears. 
Friends at first sight, it would always be. 
They were friends who had become family. 
That's when friends become family. 
When you never knew how full your life could be.

Now when we say our nightly prayers 
We know that God is always there 
He shows up in ways we cannot see.
