You Gods among men—

beat on your chest, but the drum

all that bark, no bite when is said and done,

all that noise but the room don’t hear;

Whisper lies through the leaves, through the trees, yeah...

talkin' truth but it’s all smoke & mirrors, in a breeze, yeah...

paint a forest nobody can see,

sell a myth, call it vision, then you renounce what you preach.

You Gods among men—

read parables like lectures again,

from the lectern, rehearsed, no question at the time,

like a menu—pick lies, then serve them as sin

Casual talk with a side of lies, where have you been?

flippin' the channels till the static sound fill disbelief,

white noise turnin' doctrine, distortion turnin' deep,

now signal lookin' holy but it’s really just weak

in the sandpit playing war with your friends,

toy soldiers line up like it’s all just to amend,

while the real ones out here trying hard to pretend,

Bicker like kids over “I Am” and “He Was,”

who got the crown, who wrote what, who does,

all that talk but it never adds up,

just a loop in the ego, dialed up...yeah.

Paper plane in the sky—fly high, you lyin' when they flop,

arms raised high like a time bomb, ready to drop,

you don’t hear it but it’s counting you down

play chess with lives like it’s bets for the night,

move pawns round smooth while you dim all the lights,

burn bridges fast, never build nothing right

Saturday sin in a speakeasy grin,

sip slow while the world cavin' in,

feet can’t keep pace with the mess you bring,

still you grin like you always make a win

Watch atoms split, watch blood spilt, red,

push frontlines till they snap instead, yeah.

never clock you out, you just flesh and breath;

Men with power, greed, and gun.

There ain't never no Gods among men—

just minds too loud, god complex, pen,

Big brainin' delusions, deranged; zen,

too much time, too much power, spent

Y'all egos too big for a world, contain't,

spill it all, loud, deceived, in control, in pain,

call it order but you lookin' insane ain't brainin',

brainwashin' with scripts, same stage, Yeah...
