Running from My Pain

Footsteps echo in the night,

Shadows dance, trying to hide

Echoes of my past remain,

Running from my pain again

Walking fast through city lights,

Searching for myself tonight

Every step, a silent plea,

Trying to set my spirit free

But the storm inside won't cease,

Chasing shadows, lost in peace

Fists clenched tight in vain,

Running from my pain again

Fleeing like the midnight rain

Hoping someday I will find,

A way to heal this broken mind

Caught between what's real and fake,

Frozen in this endless ache

Maybe someday I'll break the chain,
