That day

The dark days never seemed to end. 
And that plastic smile was my only friend. 
I felt like I was dying inside. 
But i wasn't ready to give Jesus my life
But I couldn't go on anymore. 
I started weeping on the floor.
I scraped myself up into the chair
And Jesus met me right there. 
I'll never forget that day
When He washed my sins away.  
The chains broke loose and I was free. 
Now He lives inside of me
I went to the river and was baptized
I felt like I had new, open eyes. 
The guilt and shame was washed away. 
And in that water, I started a new day. 
As I lingered in that water
I realized I had just become Gods daughter. 
That day is burned in my soul
And for the first time, I had felt whole. 
I'll never forget that day
When He washed my sins away.  
The chains broke loose and I was free. 
Now He lives inside of me
Now Jesus is my everything. 
Id pick him over anything. 
Oh what a wonderful savior. 
Oh what a beautiful savior.
