Yin & Yang on the Factory Floor
by Robert Ramage
Intro
Steel on steel, lights humming overhead
Same clock punching, different storms in our heads
We’re told “same goal, same damn fight”
But peace ain’t easy under fluorescent light
Verse 1
Two different souls in the same small space
Trying to build something, trying to keep pace
I bring my fire, you bring your wall
One wrong word and the silence falls
I bite my tongue, keep my head down low
Smile on my face, but the tension shows
I’m here to work, not win a war
But every glance feels like keeping score
Verse 2
Some days you’re calm, some days you’re stone
Next breath I take, I’m standing alone
I speak too loud, didn’t hear my own tone
Now I’m the villain, carved in bone
You shut me out, won’t meet my eyes
I’m left guessing what crossed the line
I wasn’t aiming to disrespect
Just trying to move with some damn respect
Chorus
It’s yin and yang in a concrete room
Same damn job, different wounds
Black and white, push and pull
Trying to make one thing whole
If we don’t bend, we’re gonna break
This team’s only strong if we both give way
I ain’t your enemy, you ain’t mine
But we’re killing the work if we don’t align
Verse 3
I was raised with a voice like thunder and rain
Learned too early how anger sounds like strength
I’m unlearning ghosts that still talk loud
Trying not to pass that poison down
I don’t outrank you, you don’t rule me
We’re just two names on the same damn sheet
I show up ready, heart on sleeve
Just want the space to breathe
Verse 4
You talk down like I don’t belong
Like I’m already guilty when nothing’s wrong
I hold my ground, but I won’t explode
Still carry pride, still pull my load
I don’t need friendship, don’t need control
Just mutual respect while we pay the toll
We could be solid, we could be fire
Instead we’re choking on crossed wires
Chorus
It’s yin and yang in a concrete room
Same damn job, different wounds
Black and white, push and pull
Trying to make one thing whole
If we don’t bend, we’re gonna break
This team’s only strong if we both give way
I ain’t your enemy, you ain’t mine
But we’re killing the work if we don’t align
Bridge
I’m jaded, yeah, but I still care
Still clocking in, still standing there
I don’t need love, don’t need trust
Just meet me halfway — that’s enough
Drop the armor, lower the blade
We’re bleeding time with every shade
No winners here if pride stays loud
We either build… or burn it down
Final Chorus (bigger, heavier)
It’s yin and yang on the factory floor
One way out, one open door
We can clash, or we can combine
Two rough edges, one straight line
Say what you mean, don’t twist the knife
We’re here to work, not ruin lives
I ain’t your enemy, you ain’t mine
Let’s get this right — or fall behind
Outro
Same clock out, same long drive home
Different weight in the same old bones
Yin and yang — it’s do or die
Find the balance… or let it die
