At Least We Have Dallas

She was walking away from 12 years of his face.
So many memories that have been erased
His life didn't turn out like he wished it could
He wanted to give her everything he said he would
His drinking grew and then was out of control
He just couldn't crawl out of that black hole. 
He took one last look and wished she could stay
And before he left she heard him gently say
Baby I'm sorry for the hard times.

But baby, at least we still have Dallas.
Dallas was a special place for her and me
And one night, spontaneously I got down on one knee
It's the place where we first met. 
we sat hand in hand watching the sunset.
Then one day I got laid off. 
After two years I felt so lost. 
Finally the bottle took her place.  
And I held her as I would say
