In the beginning, God's own hand,
Shaped the world, sea, sky, and land.
From Pharaoh's grip, a nation freed,
By Moses led, a people decreed
Laws and rules, a sacred guide,
For holy living, side by side.
Counted tribes, through desert sand,
A journey led, by God's command.
Hear, O Israel, the Lord's decree,
Love Him with all, eternally.
Across the Jordan, brave and bold,
A promised land, for stories told.
Cycles of sin, and cries for grace,
Deliverers rise, in time and space.
Loyalty's bond, a love so deep,
In fields of Boaz, promises to keep.
A prophet's call, a king's first reign,
Saul's rise and fall, through sun and rain.
David's throne, both strong and true,
A kingdom built, with God in view.
Solomon's wisdom, a temple's grace,
A kingdom's glory, in time and place
Kingdom divided, prophets warn,
Exile's shadow, a new dawn mourned.
David's lineage, a kingly line,
Worship restored, a sacred sign.
Temple rebuilt, a nation's plea,
Seeking God's face, for victory.
Return from exile, walls arise,
Rebuilding faith, beneath new skies.
Walls restored, with watchful eye,
Reforms enacted, reaching high.
Courageous queen, a nation's fate,
Against all odds, she seals their state.
Suffering's depths, a righteous plea,
Faith tested, for all to see.
A song of hope, a cry of pain,
In every verse, God's love remains.
Wisdom's call, a guiding light,
To choose the good, and do what's right.
Meaning sought, under the sun,
Wisdom's quest, until life's done.
Love's sweet song, a joyful art,
Hearts entwined, forever apart.
A prophet's voice, a message clear,
Of coming hope, dispelling fear.
Weeping prophet, a nation's plight,
Judgment foretold, in darkest night.
Sorrow's song, a city's fall,
Tears that stream, answering the call.
Visions unfold, a prophet's stand,
Dry bones awaken, across the land.
Dreams and visions, kingdoms rise,
Faith unwavering, reaching for the skies.
Unfaithful love, a heart betrayed,
Yet mercy beckons, a new path made.
Locusts swarm, a land in pain,
Repentance called, for cleansing rain.
Justice sought, for rich and poor,
A prophet's cry, forevermore.
Edom's pride, a judgment nears,
For brother's scorn, and selfish tears.
Runaway prophet, swallowed whole,
A second chance, to save a soul.
Do justice, love, walk humbly still,
God's simple plea, fulfill His will.
Nineveh's doom, a city's fall,
Vengeance declared, answering the call.
Why do the wicked prosper so?
Faith in the storm, a steady glow.
Day of the Lord, a fiery test,
Humble hearts find refuge and rest.
Rebuild the temple, God commands,
Honor His house, with willing hands.
Visions of hope, a future bright,
Messiah's coming, to bring the light.
The final word, a promise kept,
Prepare the way, for sins are swept.
From dust to kings, a story told,
Of covenants made, and hearts of old.
Through prophets' words and mighty deeds,
The Old Testament, plants holy seeds.
