We are not here because we expect to survive.

We are here because survival was never guaranteed.

Look around you.

Every face you see… is already marked.

Not by fate.

By choice.

There is no version of this where we all walk away whole.

That truth was decided long before we arrived.

I will not call this hope.

What we do here…

is trade what we are…

for what might still exist after us.
