Prompt / Lyrics
🎵 Justice League Goin’ Gray [A proud, punchy follow-up to “Old Man Superman” (5 Verses • Intro • Chorus • Bridge • Outro — With rhythm, rhyme, and a whole lotta heart)] --- [Intro – Spoken, proud & playful] You thought Superman was the only one gettin’ up there in years? Shoot, the whole League's collectin’ Social Security and still tryin’ to save the world. They might forget what day it is… But don’t you forget who they are. --- [Verse 1 – Batman] Batman’s got gadgets in his Velcro vest, Still out-thinks villains, but needs more rest. Used to vanish in smoke—real slick and sly, Now he disappears just takin’ a nap mid-fight. --- [Chorus] They ain’t what they was, but they still got pride, Got a limp in their step, but fire inside. The tights are stretched, the hair’s gone gray— But they’re still the dang Justice League… just a little delayed! --- [Verse 2 – Wonder Woman] Wonder Woman’s lasso still glows with might, But she needs a minute to win a fight. Used to stop wars with a single pose, Now she stops fights for orthopedic hose! --- [Verse 3 – Aquaman] Aquaman rules his living room throne, Talkin’ to fish on a waterproof phone. He don’t ride sharks like he used to do, But he’ll still smack a punk with a slipper or two! --- [Verse 4 – The Flash] The Flash still wears his lightning boots, But forgets where he’s goin' when he scoots. Tried runnin’ last week—bless his soul, Ended up at the Waffle House in a robe and a bowl! --- [Verse 5 – Superman Returns] Old Supes dropped by with a grunt and grin, Said, “I still fight evil… after my aspirin kicks in.” Might not leap tall buildings anymore— But he’ll toss a walker through your front door! --- [Bridge – Group Scene, Funny & Bonded] They meet once a week at the Justice Rec Hall, Playin’ cards, swappin’ tales, still standin’ tall. They joke, they argue, forget what they said— But they’ll never forget how to punch evil in the head! --- [Chorus – Repeat with Fire] They ain’t what they was, but they still got pride, Got a limp in their step, but fire inside. The tights are stretched, the hair’s gone gray— But they’re still the dang Justice League… just a little delayed! --- [Outro – Spoken then sung] So here’s to the legends with knees that squeak, Who still suit up every other week. The world may change, and youth may fade— But the League still stands… just needs more shade. 🎶 (Soft finish) > They're still the Justice League… Just a little… delayed.
