Heavy Heartbeats

Heart heavy, like bricks in my chest,

Thoughts tangled, a bird in a broken nest.

Anxiety whispers, a devil in my ear,

Promises of freedom, but chains reappear.

Depression’s a shadow, it’s stalking my stride,

A thief in the night, stealing hope from inside.
