Prompt / Lyrics
My world stops when your brown truck rolls by, Every Tuesday, Thursday, a twinkle in my eye. You stride to my doorstep, a package in your hand, And I'm a mess of giggles, completely unplanned. My heart does a flutter, a skip and a beat, When I see you approaching, oh, you're so sweet. I try to play it cool, but my cheeks turn bright red, Wishing for more than just the words that are said. Sometimes I miss you, a note on the door, And my day feels empty, I want to see you more. Just a glimpse of your smile, that's all that it takes, To mend all my worries and soothe all my aches. I whisper some words, a hint in the air, "You're gonna get me in trouble!" you say with a stare. A married man, I know, it's a forbidden dream, But a girl can still wish, or so it would seem. So roll on, brown truck, with your precious freight, Bringing not just parcels, but a glimmer of fate. And maybe, just maybe, one of these days, My UPS man will look at me in a new way.
