Waiting My Turn (4kids)

In a long, quiet line, someone waits,

Feet stay still as the moment takes shape.

Eyes look forward, hands stay calm,

Patience begins when we pause and stand.

I see a toy that I want to try,

It’s right there, shining by my side.

My body wants to rush right through,

But I take a breath — I know what to do.

I feel my feet on the floor below,

I count to four and I move real slow.

I watch my friends and I start to learn,

Good things happen when I wait my turn.

I can wait, yes I can,

Hands to myself, here I stand.

Being patient helps us all,

I wait my turn — I stand tall.

Waiting my turn, I can do it right,

I wait with kindness, calm and polite.

No pushing ahead, no rushing through,

Waiting my turn is the kind thing to do.

Waiting my turn, I smile and learn,

Everybody wins when I wait my turn.

In the classroom, hands go up,

We listen close, we don’t interrupt.

Someone’s talking, so I stay still,

I’ll have my chance — I know I will.

At the slide or in a game,

Waiting feels fair, it feels the same.

When it’s my turn, I feel so proud,

Because I waited calm and sound.

I breathe in slow, I breathe out too,

I can wait, I don’t rush,
