A turbulent storm

Beyond the norm

A mind never at rest

Always put to the test

Sensitive and emotionally aware

A young boy who had no choice but to care

A handful  and way too complicated

In an emotional shell until I graduated

Its one chance to do our best

One chance to pass the test

Even in your own story feeling like a guest

Should I run fast or is it O K to rest

Son of an immigrant and a blue collar Dad

Work hard and figure it out was the lesson I had

By twenty two a married veteran with a kid

Living in the moment with little foresight is all  did

A child lost near death on occasion

Life was no picnic no exotic vacation

Often proving to be my own worst enemy

I was spinning my wheels and living on the edge for all to see

Its one chance to do our best

One chance to pass the test

Mid management jobs making the in retail

Life was passing by with no rudder but a strong wind and full sail

The day came to leave and set my hostages free

Was the trouble with her or was it really all me

A new phase of life a new plan

A lighter heart and new approach determined to be a better man

Grandkids arrived my life they did bless

Yet I'm still me and my life is still a mess

Its one chance to do our best

One chance to pass the test

Staring at twilight at the crossroads once more

Knowing this is the last time to choose which door

The next steps I take will determine it all

Will I work it out or will I continue to fall

Life is long and not always smooth, you dont always have something to prove, make the most out of every day and think carefully about the words you say. Be kind be humble pray and do right. Because its actually short and you can quickly loose the fight
