Young Solomon prayed give me wisdom's art
To lead Your people with a righteous heart
From Sheba’s queen to nations far and wide
His judgment echoed with truth as his guide
The Temple arose a house for the Lord
Cedar and gold divinely adored
Hiram’s skilled hands a craftsman’s delight
A beacon of hope shining ever so bright
But pride took root in pleasure he drowned
Foreign wives lured on holy ground
Idols he embraced a treacherous game
His kingdom fractured tarnishing his name
From wisdom's peak to a sorrowful fall
The seeds of division answering the call
A king once blessed now lost in the night
Leaving a legacy shadowed by blight
First Kings
Two kings one crown a kingdom torn apart
Solomon's sons playing reckless with their hearts
Rehoboam in the south Jeroboam up north
A golden calf calling idols set forth
Prophets whisper warnings the people won't hear
Power in the palace but the Lord's not near
A house divided can never stand tall
One nation split two thrones about to fall
Mount Carmel’s peak Elijah takes his stand
A lone prophet facing Baal’s command
Four hundred voices scream to the sky
But their god stays silent no fire replies
Elijah steps up no fear in his bones
Drenched the altar with water soaked the stones
He called to the heavens let the Lord be known
Fire rained down and the power was shown
They danced they cried but nothing came
Elijah prayed and fire claimed the flame
Divided thrones divided stones
Who will kneel before the Holy One alone
When the fire falls when the truth calls
Will you stand or crumble will you rise or stall
First Kings
Elijah fled feared Jezebel’s wrath
Sought solace in caves on a lonely path
The mountain he climbed for a word from the Lord
A mighty wind roared but God wasn't adored
An earthquake then shook the ground gave way
But God's presence lingered in a different way
A fire blazed forth consuming all near
Yet God's gentle whisper was finally clear
Ahab the king with Jezebel's hand
Spread wickedness rampant throughout the land
Naboth’s vineyard coveted with greed
Innocent blood spilled a treacherous deed
False prophets flattered with deceitful lies
Ignoring the truth veiled before their eyes
But judgment descended a price to be paid
For defying God's will a kingdom betrayed
The still small voice a lesson to heed
In quiet surrender find strength indeed
For power and pride will lead to despair
But in humble devotion find God's loving care
