Merciless beating for those who flee

Farm field worker, dishwasher or cook

Swept off the street based on how they look

Courts of justice say its O K to profile

Papers filed and legal to stay meanwhile

They lurk in unmarked cars waiting for your court day

To pick you up and hide you away

Mothers wives daughters and son

Had no idea when this day begun

That dad would disappear he would not return

No call no word questions and anguish as their hearts do burn

Families shatter our economy is hit

Communities fractured the pressure doesn't quit

Not gang members or criminals at all

We're reviving the nazi way which we once made fall

Hundreds of billions to fund the presidents private police

To  see migrant and minority populations decrease

In no way does this make our nation great or strong

We are failing the world embracing morals which are wrong

We've forgotten compassion abandoned mercy

We ignore their danger and what caused them to flee

Its not just their problem theres more they want to do

They want to deport citizens the next one could be you

We need to rise and resist peacefully we will fight

To end the terror pain and destruction being dealt by the right

Why is this acceptable, when did it become the norm

Everyday the racism and hate rains down like a storm
