In Babylon's reign, where idols gleam, A choice was made, a faithful dream. Daniel knelt low, three times a day, To the one true God, he'd always pray. But envy stirred, a wicked plot, To silence faith, and leave it rot. The lion's den, a fearsome test, Yet angels came, and gave him rest. And in that furnace, burning hot, Shadrach, Meshach, Abednego fought. To bow to idols, they refused, Their loyalty to God, they infused. The flames raged high, the heat intense, But God's own presence, did commence. They walked unharmed, a holy sight, Proof of His power, shining bright The book of Daniel King Nebuchadnezzar, in slumber deep, A vision saw, secrets to keep. A towering statue, grand and bold, Of mixed-up metals, a story told. Daniel revealed, with wisdom true, Of kingdoms rising, and falling through. God's reign eternal, the final call, Shattering empires, watching them fall. Then Belshazzar's feast, a drunken spree, Ignoring warnings, blind could he be. A hand appeared, in pale moonlight, Writing on the wall, a chilling sight. "Mene, Mene, Tekel, Parsin," Doom was declared, his fate within. That very night, the kingdom fell, A testament to pride's farewell. The book of Daniel In exile's land, where sorrows dwell, Daniel sought God, his heart to tell. Despite the law, a decree so dire, He knelt in prayer, with burning fire. Windows open, toward Jerusalem's gleam, He poured out his soul, in a faithful stream. Confessing sins, of his people's plight, Yearning for mercy, day and night. The king's command, a wicked snare, To silence faith, and fill with despair. But Daniel's trust, it would not bend, On God's great promise, he could depend. Though danger loomed, he would not cease, To seek God's face, and find his peace.
