Moonlit Deceit

In moonlit nights, I wander free

Nine tails aloft, a sight to see

I dance with shadows, weave a spell

A trickster's heart, a tale to tell

Foxfire burning, hearts aflame

In the shadows, I'll whisper your name

I’ve chosen you to bring me delight

After all your fate is sealed tonight

With cunning & guile, I roam the land

I steal from the unwitting folks whom I find

A shape-shifter, with a winning hand

I take advantage of those that pay me no mind

Best not to gamble with a fox so wise

I’ve won before we started so it’s no surprize

Village elders warned you to stay away

But I beseech you to come out and play

I hold you entranced as you look into my eyes

Your soul to keep, your heart's my prize

With every trick, a secret's shared

And in my eyes, your soul's ensnared
