I haven’t been home in a very long time.
Homesick for something that once was.
I feel I’ve lost the reason to my rhyme.
My life’s been full of changes,
For a new home I’ve been searchin’ but…

Home is where the heart is,
But my heart has flown away.
Three pieces of my heart are now 
in different parts of the country.
One by one there was a goodbye,
Then they spread their wings and began to fly.

It’s been awhile since I’ve had a place to call mine. 
Feels like I’m just passing by
But I know I’ll get through this new season of life.
