A Call to Heaven

Oh Lord, I bend my knees,

With a heart full of please,

In my whispered prayer, I seek the light,

To hear his voice, make everything right.

Dear Lord, why take him so soon?

In 2016, under that silver moon,

My daddy's love, my guiding star,

Now I wander, drifting too far.

He's gone, but the echoes stay,

In every corner where shadows play,

I need his strength, I'm lost at sea,

Please help me, Lord, hear my plea.

In the silence, I reach for a sign,

To feel his spirit, to know he's near,

In the chaos of life, where darkness resides,

I crave his wisdom to ease my fears.

Is there a telephone in heaven,

Where he can hear my cries,

A line that connects our hearts,

So I can feel his love inside?

In the scars of my past, I stand tall,

A survivor rising, ready to break down these walls,

But oh, how I miss his gentle touch,
