In the shadows of our cities bright,  
Where kindness once flourished in the light,  
A whisper of doubt in the human soul,  
Are we losing ourselves in the quest for control?

What is going on in the hearts of the crowd?  
Where laughter once echoed, now silence is loud.  
The boundaries we crafted, once sacred and clear,  
Are blurred in the chaos, and we tremble in fear.

Respect, a thin thread, frayed at the seams,  
Disregarded in moments, lost in our dreams.  
Empathy’s flame, flickering low,  
Drowned in the noise of a world on the go.

Scrolls of distraction, they pull us apart,  
Detached from the warmth of a beating heart.  
In screens we find solace, yet feel so alone,  
Are we strangers now, in a world of our own?

Let us pause in this race, take a breath and reflect,  
Rekindle the bonds that we ought to protect.  
For in every soul lies a story untold,  
A tapestry woven, more precious than gold.

So, are we de-humanizing, or can we revive,  
The essence of kindness that helps us survive?
