No longer bound to the law

Do you not know…

The law has authority… as long as we live…

But something changed…

Through Christ…

Bound by the law, yeah tied to the weight

Living in rules but still trapped in fate

Like a wife to a husband, the covenant stands

Till death comes through and releases the hand

See I was living, but didn’t see sin

Till the commandment started speaking within

“You shall not covet”—it opened my eyes

And everything hidden started to rise

What was meant for life… showed me death inside

I couldn’t escape it, no place to hide

But I’m released now, I’m free in You

Died to the old, now I live in truth

Not by the letter, but Spirit and grace

You gave me life, You took my place

I’m released now, no chains on me

Sin had a hold but it couldn’t keep me

I bear new fruit, I walk in light

You raised me up from death to life

Sin took the law and twisted the truth

Used what was good just to tighten the noose

Deceived my heart, made wrong feel right

Turned every command into internal fight

I thought I was living, I thought I was good

But didn’t understand what I really stood

The law is holy, righteous, and pure

But couldn’t save me—that wasn’t its cure

It showed me the sin…

But couldn’t cleanse me…

It pointed the way…

But couldn’t free me…

But I’m released now, I’m free in You…

The law is good…

But sin used it…

To reveal what was already in me…

But through Christ…

I’m no longer bound…

I’m alive… in the Spirit…
