The mirrors lie

We entered the world with a single cry,

Under the same golden, blessed sky.

But hands of greed tore the bond apart,

One kept the crown, one kept the heart.

(The beat drops - Heavy and Regal)

Now I sit high on a throne of red velvet,

Whatever I crave, I simply shall have it.

If the bread is gone, let them eat cake!

The world exists for my happiness' sake.

Does the commoner cry? Do the peasants mourn?

[Spoken/Softly] My job is to shadow, to clean and to hide...

[Smiling sadly] It’s fine, we are twins. I can handle the freeze.

I will be the Princess just for tonight.

(Standing alone on the stage)

The view from the scaffold is cold and high.

The people are cheering to watch me die.

(Whispering from the darkness)

(Shouting)

(Sound of a sharp blade dropping. A loud church bell rings once.)

(Silence, then a lone piano plays the intro melody)

(Voice breaking)

(She sobs)
