They tried to break me

They tried to destroy me

Told me I was unworthy and that I had no value

I was lost and had given up on life

But somebody was praying for me

I only wanted to be loved and give love

I surrendered my all to the cause

But the cause was a hoax

My intentions were pure

My heart was open

I gave my all

And they took all that I gave and rendered it useless.

But somebody was praying for me

And rescued me from the pits of darkness

I have a new life

A new purpose

A new outlook

And a new love

Thank God somebody was praying for me

I'm still here

Still smiling

I'm here

Still living my best life
