The Sky Below

Clouds are rivers, stars are seeds,

The earth dissolves beneath my knees.

I stand on air, yet cannot fall,

The sky below consumes it all.

The ocean hangs above my head,

Silver tides where daylight bled.

Mountains drift in endless streams,

I am awake inside their dreams.

I reach for ground… but it’s not there,

The sky below is all I wear.

The sky below, the earth erased,

Horizons bend, the stars displaced.

Inverted worlds will never know,

The weight of falling sky below.

Lightning blooms like flowers wide,

Roots of fire cross the tide.

Shadows swim where sunlight hides,

And time forgets which way it slides.
