Its hard to accept the division in America today

The extraordinary decision for which the world has to pay

The way facts and science are ignored and swept away

With indifference and defiance theres no concern for what comes our way

One planet floating through space

We don't love our species but we hate based on race

Greed for money lust for power

Fear mongering leaders expecting us to cower

Where's our love for eachother

Are we all just focused on just me

If we can't rely on one another

then we've lost control over what will soon be

One home one family one direction

But we hit an intersection

Now we struggle to offer support and real kindness

Instead we self induce our own emotional blindness

Where's our love for eachother

Was it so bad what we could have had

Why do we choose disruption, self destruction

Were all so tense everything in suspense it makes no sense

Racial hate and national division

Whats in it for me fuels every decision

More firepower and destructive capability

When it comes to giving we have no availability

Where's our love for eachother

Are we all just focused on just me

If we can't rely on one another

then we've lost control over what will soon be

Look outside yourself  love your family love your friends

Be kind to your neighbors dont be swayed by fear or trends

Kindness has a value which exceeds expectations

With decency and kindness we can mend fractured relations

I suspect plenty others are feeling what I feel

Living the lies and narratives redefining what is real

Experiencing limitations in a love you thought was superior

Only to be crushed in heart and feeling quite inferior

I dont know about you but this isn't what I wanted

A heart and world so empty cold and feeling haunted

Can we save our world can we save ourselves

the answer resides in us not in stores or on shelves

The clock is ticking time is running out

Acceptance love and kindness is what we should be about
