So many hearts that glow
Because of a song I know 
One with a gentle flow
About over the rainbow
A place with a big blue sky
Where the blue birds fly
Where good wins and the evil die
A place well worth a try 

This world has become a tragic mess
A world abundant with pain and stress
Human flaws we don't address
We ignore and deny our deep distress
Depression and sorrow is our mental state
Destruction outpaces the good we create
Love hidden in deep shadows eclipsed by hate
When it comes to causing harm too few hesitate 

I wish I could wish upon a star
And somehow alter the way we are
That we could accept and treat eachother well 
And lift us above this dystopian hell 

Up there where the bluebirds fly
In a world where all people try
Above the bias hate and fear
We love with vision pure and clear
If only we'd all open our hearts and see
Our world could exist so differently 

Another rainbow song says one day we'll find
The thing we are missing the element which will bind
It calls on us all to see and not to be blind
The lover, the dreamer and me, no one left behind
It may sound like nonsense or pure insanity
But in songs we can hear it and it's not a fantasy
Its always in our grasp right in front to see
Its the love we can attain and share and its absolutely free

It's not cool or manly or comfortable to sing these rainbow songs
But its about time we became aware and stopped our endless wrongs 

Its brave strong responsible attractive and absolutely right
Its our mission and purpose and the thing to keep in sight
The only thing worthy of fighting with all your might
The thing we all have to both give and receive
We all know its power and in it we all believe
Its a thought very simple, easy to conceive
We can overcome so much pain and have less need to grieve 

A connection over thee rainbow  according to the song
A concept which we all could grasp never being wrong
A gift all around us granted from above
Let's make the rainbow connection and turn our hearts to love
