Noah's ark

The rain came down like a drum beat loud
People were dancing in the wrong kind of crowd
Noah built the ark though they called him insane 
A vision in his mind while the skies brought rain 
Forty nights fell from heavenly skies
Judgment raining hard bringing truth to lies
Noah held the wheel while the storms did shout
The earth washed clean from the inside out
Raven flew alone but found no rest
Hope came back with a dove on a quest
A rainbow stretched like a promise untold
Peace in the colors and mercy in the fold
The ark found land where the mountains kissed
A new world born out of watery mist
Noah stepped out with a sound of relief
Planting the seeds of the world's belief

Two by two they walked on the floor
Lions to doves heard the knock at the door 
The water rose high but the ark would glide 
Survivors afloat on the ocean wide

Rain fell down no end in sight 
Sky turned gray it swallowed the light
Noah was told to build don't delay
A message from above gotta save the day
Gather two by two every beast on land 
He worked day and night with God's command 
Hammer to wood the ark took form
A floating sanctuary to weather the storm 
Mocked by the crowd but he stayed on track 
No time for doubt no looking back 
Thunder crashed but he held his ground 
A captain with faith in a world unsound 
The dove flew high a branch returned 
A symbol of peace from lessons learned 
The floor receded mountains in view 
A rainbow spoke of a promise true

Forty nights and forty days of rain 
The waters rose to bury the plain
Faith kept strong through the darkest night
